About the Opportunity

As a Compliance Manager, you will be reporting to a senior member of the compliance function. The role is that of a subject matter expert and you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of high standards of adherence to the Company’s Code of Ethics and related rules, policies, and procedures in AZ India and other Asia Area markets.

You will assist the senior member of the compliance function to ensure that robust governance & compliance processes & systems are in place in AZ India and help in the smooth conduct of Compliance meetings, communications, and information in the Asia Area.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage local/area oversight of all aspects of governance, including working with Compliance colleagues in other markets.
  • Supports the senior Compliance leader in the implementation of an effective compliance program (referring to the 8 elements defined globally for AZ) in the Asia Area.
  • Operationally supports “second line of defence” accountabilities.
  • Conduct and manages Compliance discussions, including monthly and other meetings, and maintain good documentation of them in the Asia Area.
  • Support implementation of AZ risk framework and risk register, including mitigation of corporate risks (e.g., data privacy, ABAC, competition law, etc.)
  • Support fostering and embedding a culture of ethics and integrity including personal accountability at all levels in the organization.
  • Proactively review processes, practices, and documents to identify risks and work to mitigate the risks.
  • Work closely with the Assurance team to ensure that trends and gaps identified are addressed.
  • Develop Compliance training programs to ensure training is provided according to a defined schedule for all disciplines and functional areas.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified professional – preferably in finance, accountancy, law, and compliance.
  • Should have 5+ years of experience overall.
  • Experience in pharmaceuticals or a related industry.
  • Significant experience in own specialist area.
  • Knowledge and experience of corporate governance, health care regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong collaborative, partnering, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently.
  • High ethical standards, trustworthy, operating with absolute discretion.

Desirable Requirements

  • Demonstrable management skills and experience
